Just like LASIK surgery, but for up-close reading vision loss (presbyopia)
Laser PresbyVisionTM is a vision correction surgery designed to treat your eyes using state-of-the-art laser technology similar to what is used with LASIK.
The procedure has been adapted slightly to treat up-close reading vision loss.
With Laser PresbyVisionTM, the surgeon will correct the dominant eye (the better-functioning eye) to see from far distances and the other to see from near distances. By correcting each eye for a different distance, a visual blend zone is created. This means your post-surgery vision will resemble what it looks like through bifocals—only without the glasses. After Laser PresbyVisionTM, eyesight from both near and far distances is clear and comfortable.
Most LASIK MD patients who have had Laser PresbyVisionTM adapt to the outcome and notice an improvement to their vision. What's more is that this surgery preserves depth perception (the ability to see the world in three dimensions) and contrast sensitivity (the ability to distinguish between light and dark).
