FAQ

LASIK MD offers financing through Fairstone for qualified applicants, including a 0% interest promotional plan and a fixed low-interest monthly payment plan.

All financing is subject to credit approval and plan terms. Ask your clinic for the latest options before booking.

At LASIK MD, PRK and LASIK pricing is generally comparable. The main long-term savings come from reducing the ongoing cost of glasses and contact lenses.

PRK usually has a longer early recovery and may require more follow-up visits, while LASIK recovery is typically faster. Your recommended procedure depends on your eye health and candidacy.

Laser vision correction is generally an eligible medical expense for Canadian tax purposes. Quebec residents may be able to claim eligible expenses on both their federal and Quebec tax returns.

For 2025, the federal claim applies to eligible expenses above the lesser of 3% of net income or $2,834. Quebec rules are similar, but patients should confirm the current thresholds with CRA, Revenu Quebec, or a tax professional.

Yes. Qualified applicants may be eligible for a 0% interest promotional plan through Fairstone.

Interest accrues during the promotional period but is waived if you make the required payments and pay the full balance before the promotional period ends. Minimum payments alone may not repay the full balance.

Many patients find that the long-term cost of glasses, contact lenses, solutions, and routine eye exams can exceed the one-time cost of LASIK over a 10-year period, especially when financing is factored in.

A Health Spending Account (HSA), also called a Health Care Spending Account (HCSA), may cover eligible medical expenses such as LASIK.

Confirm eligibility with your plan administrator, pay for your procedure, then submit your itemized LASIK MD receipt for reimbursement.

They can be used together. Many patients use available HSA funds first, then finance any remaining balance if needed.

This can help reduce out-of-pocket costs while keeping payments more manageable. Financing is subject to credit approval and plan terms.

LASIK MD does not offer a universal student discount, but eligible members of some student associations, including FMEQ/FMRQ, may have access to corporate or group pricing.

Students who qualify may also use Fairstone financing. LASIK MD's Lowest Price Guarantee may apply when a competitor offers equivalent service and technology.

Yes. LASIK MD offers free, no-obligation consultations to determine your candidacy, walk through your procedure options, and provide a personalized quote before you decide on anything.

If your vision changes over time and an enhancement is recommended, your surgeon will discuss any additional cost with you. Ask your clinic about our optional Vision Enhancement Plan (VEP), which may help cover the cost of future enhancement procedures.
