As an eye care professional, I was never comfortable wearing contact lenses. I didn’t like contacts because they don’t let your eyes breathe, and for me, that led to a lot of eye infections and dryness—to the point where I decided to stop wearing contact lenses altogether. Glasses are another option, but I play sports and I enjoy the outdoors so glasses created a whole host of other issues. Plus, glasses weren’t practical as an opthalmic technician because they made it difficult to see clearly through microscopes, and they were constantly getting dirty.
Tired of eye infections with my contacts and poor vision with my glasses, I said enough was enough, so I decided to get LASIK. The procedure was very quick and painless, it was a little uncomfortable for the four hours following the procedure, but it wasn’t that bad.
LASIK MD was great! Dr. Demers was my surgeon and he did a great job reassuring me from start to finish.
Now life is so much better. I no longer have to carry contacts and glasses around with me everywhere. Whether I’m coming inside from the cold, out when it’s raining, playing sports or just watching TV on the couch—I now feel free!
