During a LASIK MD webinar, Dr. Avi Wallerstein answered the question: “How do you figure out if I can have the surgery or not?”
Dr. Wallerstein explains that you must first undergo a comprehensive eye exam. He says roughly 90% of people are good candidates for laser vision correction. Dr. Wallerstein says diagnostic imaging is also used to learn more about specific characteristics of the eye.
Dr. Wallerstein says with newer technology, patients who were deemed non-candidates in the past, may now be candidates for laser vision correction.
