My LASIK MD experience wasn’t the typical freedom from glasses and contact lenses because I never wore any. I hadn’t had an eye exam since I was in grad school and I remember the eye doc saying I had a slight astigmatism, but it wasn’t severe enough to require glasses. Over the years I noticed that my vision was worsening but it was not bad enough for me to really address it.
I would get sore dry eyes from reading and noticed others could read traffic signs long before I could. This got me thinking that as a bobsleigh pilot, my vision is a huge part of competing in a sport that’s measured to the hundredth of a second. After my consultation with the professionals at LASIK MD, I was convinced that corrective eye surgery could only help me become a better bobsleigh driver, so I went for it. Soon after the procedure I was enjoying the sharpness of my vision; I like to compare it to seeing in HD. Now I can’t wait for the snow to fly so I can try out my new peepers on the track!
