Educational Background
Dr. Eric Thomsen began his undergraduate training at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He went on to receive his bachelor’s degree at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, where he was on the dean’s list and won several academic awards. He also obtained his medical degree and completed his residency at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Thomsen went on to complete his post-doctoral fellowship training in cornea and external disease at the University of Florida.
Refractive Experience
Dr. Thomsen has completed over 15,000 ocular procedures, including LASIK, cataract and corneal transplant procedures. He has extensive training with the latest technologies and techniques in cataract and refractive surgery.Dr. Thomsen has also worked in the ophthalmology departments at the Brantford General and the London Health Sciences Centre. He has taught residents cornea and external disease as an adjunct professor of ophthalmology at the University of Western Ontario.
Accomplishments and Awards
Dr. Thomsen has given several presentations at the Ontario Annual Optometry Meeting. He’s also given a course to new optometrists explaining how they can work with ophthalmology.
