Finally, I know what it’s like to be free from glasses and contacts! Day-to-day I wore glasses and contacts, but I always hated the burden of glasses. Contacts offered more flexibility, but I still disliked the daily annoyance of putting them in and taking them out. I also travel a lot for competitions, and I always had to make sure I didn’t forget extra contacts, contact cases and solution. Plus, I was always worried about getting an eye infection.
As a competitive mogul skier, my vision is extremely important. I have to be able to read the moguls down to the smallest detail, and when I’m doing jumps I need to be able to spot my landing. I trained and competed with contacts, so I always had the worry of losing a lens in the middle of my run or during a jump. I was tired of the daily hassle of corrective lenses and the problems they caused during competition – so I turned to LASIK MD.
I was a little nervous about laser vision correction at first, but after my initial consultation – and finding out I was a candidate – I became excited about the procedure. The LASIK MD staff was so friendly and my surgeon, Dr. Mark Cohen, took time to explain the procedure and answer all of my questions. The whole procedure only lasted about 10 minutes, and it was completely painless. The next day I was seeing 20/20!
Because of LASIK, I no longer have the burden of glasses or contacts in my life. LASIK has also given me more confidence and has allowed me to focus 100% when competing because I don’t have to worry about my vision. I’m very satisfied with the results of my LASIK procedure. Thanks LASIK MD for your professionalism and expertise!
