Educational Background
Dr. Eric Tam completed his medical degree and residency in ophthalmology at the University of Toronto. Since 2003, he has run a successful private practice in Brampton, where he focuses on anterior segment, and cataract and refractive surgery. In addition, Dr. Tam is an active attending surgeon at William Osler Health Centre in Brampton, and Mount Sinai Hospital and Kensington Eye Institute in Toronto.
Refractive Experience
Dr. Tam has performed over 5,000 ocular procedures. Over the past five years, he has taught cataract surgery to numerous ophthalmologists-in-training, using the latest technologies, techniques and lens implants. Dr. Tam has extensive experience using a wide array of the latest refractive technologies, such as clear lens extractions, multifocal lenses and astigmatic keratotomy.
Accomplishments and Awards
Dr. Tam is a lecturer in the University of Toronto’s ophthalmology residency program. He has written articles on ophthalmology for scientific publications. He has also given presentations at major ophthalmology conferences, including for the Canadian Ophthalmological Society. Dr. Tam speaks both Mandarin and Cantonese.
