Educational Background

Dr. Jacques Grégoire completed his medical studies and later, his specialization in ophthalmology with a fellowship in anterior segment discers and corneal transplant at Laval University in Quebec. Soon after, he joined the staff of Hôtel-Dieu hospital in Sherbrooke as its practicing ophthalmologist. While at Hotel-Dieu, Dr. Grégoire also served as clinical professor at the University of Sherbrooke’s faculty of medicine, and as medical director of the Nancy Desharnais Eye Bank.

Refractive Experience

Dr. Grégoire is a recognized expert in laser vision correction. He is certified on multiple excimer laser platforms and multiple flap creation platforms, and has performed more than 25,000 procedures. As the first surgeon in Sherbrooke to implant an intraocular lens, Dr. Grégoire is a specialist at cornea and refractive surgery, and is one of only a handful of Quebec ophthalmologists who perform corneal transplants.

Dr. Grégoire’s extensive experience as an ophthalmologist stems both the professional and academic milieus, as he has been performing laser vision correction surgery for more than 16 years, and has taught cornea and refractive surgery to residents at the University of Sherbrooke for over 25 years.
