Educational Background

Dr. Daniel Ovid Black completed his medical degree at the Boston University School of Medicine. He went on to specialize and complete his residency in Ophthalmology at Laval University. Dr. Black then pursued post-doctoral fellowship training in Oculoplastic Surgery and Neuro-Ophthalmology at the University of Montreal.

Refractive Experience

Dr. Black has performed over 13,000 ocular procedures, and has experience and expertise using the latest and most advanced laser platforms. In addition to his work at LASIK MD, Dr. Black is a clinical professor of ophthalmology at Laval University where he is the Director of Medical Student Education in Ophthalmology and the Chief of Oculoplastic Surgery.

Accomplishments and Awards

Dr. Black has received numerous awards of excellence for his work teaching residents and medical students. He is actively involved in academic medicine, and has participated in many conferences as an expert in oculoplastic surgery, as well as in neuro-ophthalmology. His work has been published in several peer-reviewed journals.
