Educational Background

Dr. Brian Bonanni completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Princeton University. He obtained a doctorate in biophysics and physiology at New York University before completing his medical degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Medical School. Dr. Bonanni did his residency at UMDNJ-affiliated Robert Wood Johnson/Cooper Hospital, after which he completed a fellowship in cornea, anterior segment and refractive surgery at the Duke University Eye Center.

Refractive Experience

Dr. Bonanni is one of the few surgeons in the world to have extensive experience with, and be certified on, all the major laser platforms available today. Dr. Bonanni has over 10 years of experience performing refractive surgery, including more than 50,000 ocular procedures. He is an expert in all types of laser vision correction, including LASIK, PRK and LASEK. Many of today’s leading refractive surgeons have either been taught and/or had their vision corrected by Dr. Bonanni. He has been the director of four major refractive centers in the country, and has also taught physiology at New York University.

In addition to his work at LASIK MD, Dr. Bonanni maintains a successful private practice.

Accomplishments and Awards

Dr. Bonanni has presented numerous lectures, and has written several articles about corneal disease and refractive surgery. Dr. Bonanni is a medical source for Women's Health Magazine, ABC News and other media organizations.
