Educational Background
Dr. Marino Discepola has completed a 3-year honours Bachelors of Science, 4 years of medical studies as well as a 5-year residency in Ophthalmology at McGill University. He is a highly skilled and well respected ophthalmologist.
Refractive ExperienceDr. Discepola has extensive experience in
Ophthalmology and ocular procedures and has performed many studies
in the field. He is on staff at the McGill University Health Center
as well as at St-Mary’s Hospital in Montreal.
Accomplishments and AwardsDr. Discepola has traveled throughout much of the world to present his work and lecture on ocular surgery to the scientific community. He has published over 25 articles in prestigious peered-reviewed journals including The Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, Acta Ophthalmologica, Ophthalmology, Clinical Therapeutics, and Ophthalmic Practice. During his academic training, he has won numerous awards and distinctions including the Fantham Memorial Prize, the McConnell Award, the Logan Scholarship, and was named University Scholar.Dr. Discepola is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is also one of the few non-Italian residents to have been conferred a Knighthood by the Italian government for excellence in research, teaching, and patient care.
