Educational Background



Dr. Brian Bonanni completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Princeton University, and did PhD work in biophysics and physiology at New York University before completing his M.D. degree at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ-New Jersey) Medical School. He completed his residency at UMDNJ-affiliated Robert Wood Johnson/Cooper Hospital.
Following this, Dr. Bonanni completed a fellowship in cornea, anterior segment and refractive surgery at the Duke University Eye Center.


Refractive Experience

Dr. Bonanni is one of the few surgeons in the world to have extensive experience with—and to be certified on—all the major laser platforms available today. Dr. Bonanni has over 12 years of experience performing refractive surgery and has personally performed over 30,000 successful procedures. He is an expert in all types of laser vision correction, including LASIK, PRK, and LASEK. Dr. Bonanni is a medical source for Women's Health Magazine, ABC News and other media organizations.

In addition to maintaining a successful practice, Dr. Bonanni teaches, lectures, and writes on corneal disease and refractive surgery. Many of the leading refractive surgeons have either been taught and/or had their vision corrected by Dr. Bonanni. He has been the director of four major refractive centers in the country, and has also taught physiology at New York University
