Educational BackgroundDr. Choremis completed her medical degree at McGill University, on a Hugh Brock scholarship. She then specialized in Ophthalmology at the University of McGill. Dr. Choremis subsequently completed her fellowship training at Tufts University in Boston were she learned state-of-the-art techniques in the fields of cornea, external disease and refractive surgery. Refractive ExperienceDr. Choremis has extensive experience in intraocular procedures. Furthermore, she has performed numerous research projects in the field of refractive surgery, and has presented at prestigious ophthalmic conferences in the United States on numerous occasions. She has most recently received grants from the E.A. Baker Foundation for the Prevention of Blindness to perform pioneering work on conductive keratoplasty, a relatively new technique in refractive surgery. Dr. Choremis is currently an assistant professor at McGill University and enjoys teaching ophthalmologists-in-training. Accomplishments and AwardsDr. Choremis has been very devoted to research throughout her medical career. During medical school, she received 4 research grants from the Medical Research Council of Canada and the Pharmaceutical Medical Association of Canada in order to carry out her work. She was then invited to participate in research in Palo Alto, California, in an institute affiliated with Stanford University. During residency, she received 1st prize at the McGill Ophthalmology Research Day for her work in Diabetic retinopathy.
