Educational Background

Dr. Nguyen received her doctor in medicine degree and completed a master in surgery from McGill University. She then specialized in ophthalmology at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. She completed a 2-year fellowship training in cornea and refractive surgery at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Refractive Experience

Dr. Nguyen has diverse experience performing laser surgery with several types of state-of-the-art lasers, including the LadarVision, the VISX S4 and the Bausch & Lomb Technolas 217. She is a clinical instructor at the American Academy of Ophthalmology and at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery where she gives talks to the scientific community on various subjects relating to her field of expertise.

Accomplishment and Awards

Her research interests include both cornea and refractive surgery. She has authored numerous chapters in leading textbooks on the subject. For the past 5 years, she has been presenting research at international meetings and receiving honours for her work.

Dr. Nguyen is currently affiliated with the University of Montreal where she is conducting research on developing novel techniques in corneal and refractive surgery.
