Educational BackgroundDr. Weinstock completed his medical degree and subsequently specialized in ophthalmology at the University of Toronto. He completed his post-doctoral fellowship training in two major American centers for advanced ophthalmologic training and research, namely the Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital in New York City and the University of Iowa. Dr. Weinstock’s then completed advanced training in laser vision correction in Milan, Italy and Montreux, Switzerland. Refractive ExperienceDr. Weinstock has been a physician for over twenty years. He is one of the most respected and well-known ophthalmologists in Canada. He is also recognized as one of the country’s pioneers in laser eye treatment. Dr. Weinstock was the first doctor in Ontario and the second in Canada to perform laser vision correction. Dr. Weinstock has also performed thousands of Zyoptix wavefront procedures. Accomplishments and AwardsDr. Weinstock has extensive knowledge and expertise in laser eye surgery. He has given numerous lectures and offered various training courses on vision correction. Dr. Weinstock is presently an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the faculty of medicine at the University of Toronto where he teaches eye surgery to ophthalmologists-in-training. Dr. Weinstock is also a staff member and holds full privileges at the Toronto General Hospital and the Toronto Western Hospital of the University Health Network. Dr. Weinstock has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of Refractive Surgery.
