LASIK MD Laser Eye Surgery – Zyoptix Custom Wavefront LASIK Vision Correction
Zyoptix Wavefront laser vision correction can result in a better quality of vision than that achieved with standard treatments. LASIK MD offers two types of Zyoptix treatments as described below:
-
Zyoptix Wavefront Guided (Personalized) treatment is tailored to very small visual irregularities that are specific to one’s eyes, as measured by an aberrometer. This treatment has an additional benefit for people whose vision is poorly corrected with glasses or contact lenses, and may correct some disturbances of vision that are the result of previous eye injuries or surgeries. See Wavefront Analysis to understand how it works.
-
Zyoptix Wavefront Adjusted treatment features a unique approach to re-shaping the cornea. Whereas other lasers flatten the front surface of the eye, Zyoptix Wavefront Adjusted correction results in a corneal shape that is closer to the normal curvature of a healthy eye, for a better quality of both day and night vision.
Advantages of both types of Zyoptix Wavefront Laser Vision Correction
- Tissue Saving. Zyoptix allows for vision correction with less thinning of the cornea. This is particularly important with patients with thin corneas, higher prescriptions and large pupils.
- Larger treatment zones. Zyoptix minimizes the risk of nighttime glare and haloes, especially for patients with higher prescriptions and large pupils.
- Better quality vision. Less optical aberrations are measured following the procedure, meaning sharper eyesight and a better chance of achieving 20/15 vision with Zyoptix.
- A faster laser. Shorter treatment times make the final vision result more predictable.
